French siblings Salomé and Nascimo Fournier (MB Boards/Sailloft) just released their new edit from their Summer 2024 stay on the Greek island of Karpathos. The film presents a more artistic take on freestyle windsurfing, placing the sport’s graceful, dance-like flow at the forefront.
Inspired by Erik Satie’s Gymnopédies, a piano piece based on an ancient Greek dance, Salomé and Nascimo reimagine that slow, deliberate choreography on the water through the fluidity and flow of freestyle.
Gymnopédies is a creative combination of artistic inspiration with raw windsurfing action, highlighting freestyle as both an incredibly high-level, high potential sport and a universal means of creative expression rooted in rhythm and flow.
