Who's Coming to Paros? | FPT Paros Fleet Announcement

The Freestyle Pro Tour (FPT) is back in action tomorrow on the Greek island of Paros, and the rider lineup for this showdown is nothing short of world-class. With a nuclear forecast showing around 30 knots of wind every single day, conditions at the flatwater paradise of Pounda Beach are set to deliver the ultimate freestyle arena. Only a Pro Men’s fleet will take to the water this time – but with many of the world’s top-ranked athletes confirmed, from tour champions to promising young talent, the entry list reads like a who’s who of modern freestyle windsurfing. Get ready for one of the most stacked events of the season.

The 2024 triple crown winner returns to the FPT after missing out on the competition in Porto Pollo at the beginning of the month. After claiming the EFPT championship title at his home spot in Naxos last year, Lennart came out guns blazing at the start of 2025, claiming victories at the opening two events of the season: the Tow-In World Series opener in Düsseldorf, followed shortly by a victory at the first Freestyle event at the Proving Grounds event in Cape Town. Picking up a wrist injury a few weeks before Sardinia, the Greek was sidelined for that event, but following a short training stop in Pozo, he’s looking as strong as ever — entering this event as one of the favorites for the crown.

Yentel Caers

Hot on Lennart’s heels will be the Flying Belgian. After picking up the victory in both the Tow-In side competition and the Freestyle event at the FPT Sardinia a few weeks ago, Caers will be looking to carry the form we saw in his previous victory into the start of this event. While Yentel feels at home in choppy conditions when launching into huge air moves off kickers, he also has a variety of multi-move combos in his back pocket — something he’ll need to draw on in the flatwater conditions in Paros when battling amongst the tour’s best.

Jacopo Testa

When speaking of stylish combos, the first name that comes to mind is Jacopo Testa. Moves like Spock Kabikuchis and Shove-it Spock Spocks (of which we saw plenty in Sardinia) are a standard in the Italian’s repertoire, with very few other riders on tour capable of pulling off some of the combos that Japo does mid-heat. When we caught up with him before his home event in Porto Pollo, he also mentioned multiple other combos that he has landed a few times, but has still been working on and perfecting (read the full interview here). Amongst them were moves such as the Spock Kabi Kono and Spock Kabi Culo — could we see either of these stuck in Paros?

Takumi Moriya

No young rider on tour has been praised as much as Takumi Moriya in recent times — and for good reason. Coming off the back of event wins in the first two freestyle stops of the Japanese Windsurfing Association’s (JWA) national tour in Zushi Beach and Motosuko, Takumi is the up-and-coming rider to watch at this event. Moriya has been seen hitting the water training with European freestyle legend Dieter Van der Eyken in Pozo, and should put up serious competition with the potential for big upsets and an impressive run.

Bodhi Kempen

(Severne)

Bodhi’s back on the FPT, following an extended absence from competition during the first half of the season. He’s been hard at work at his home spot in Brouwersdam — a location that delivers similar conditions to that of the Paros competition venue — showing all sorts of combo variety in his recent social media posts, with perfectly stomped, consistent Double Culos, Spock Culos, Spock Konos, and even some more unusual combinations such as Grubby Spocks.

Tigo Kort

Tigo returns alongside his training partner Kempen for this event — the last time we saw Tigo out on the water in an FPT heat was at the 2024 season finale in Naxos — right next door to where the FPT Paros is taking place. Kort has been hard at work at his home spot in the Netherlands as well, and will also be a rider to watch, with the potential to cause a serious upset against any of the top runners when he puts a heat together.

Manolis Chrysopoulos

Prasonisi ripper Manolis Chrysopoulos is back in the FPT fleet after pulling out of the competition in Porto Pollo last minute. Competing in front of and being cheered on by Greek fans is bound to give Manolis an extra push of motivation and energy as he attempts to recreate his performance from Cape Town, where he looked extremely strong, putting together a multitude of solid heats on his way to a 4th-place finish.

Sokratis Saraliotis

Naxos local Sokratis Saratolis made his tour debut in Naxos last year and immediately impressed. His run there, combined with his progress on the water between the event and the end of 2024, earned him the accolade of Most Improved Athlete of the season. After his first Tow-In showing at Boot, where he finished strong, he has only looked more refined. Following a lengthy training stay in Naxos, Sokratis will once again be looking to impress the judges, and is yet another rider capable of causing major upsets at this event.

Pier Bongianni

If there was one rider who made an impact and a name for himself in Sardinia, it was Pier. Despite missing out on the victory in the Youth and Juniors division to close friend Cosmo Pezetti due to a penalty for leaving the heat area in the finals, Pier put on a standout performance, piecing together heats that would have earned him wins in the men’s fleet throughout the elimination. He then went on to prove he’s capable of competing at the highest level by finishing joint-5th in the Pro Men’s fleet. He’s been hard at work in Porto Pollo getting ready and is sure to repeat his heroics from Sardinia here in Paros.

Adam Sims

The Big Boss of the FPT is back competing again! Having sailed alongside some of the tour’s top names for a long time, Adam is a rider capable of throwing down some of the largest and highest-scoring moves on the scoresheet — we even saw a sneak peek of his Double Air Culo progress from Cape Town earlier this year on his socials. After a brief cameo in the Tow-In event in Vesoul last year, Sims is back on the fin and ready to throw a curveball at some of the top competitors at this event.

Maarten Molenaar

(WeOne/GunSails)

The Blue One. Mr. Pasko. The man behind the camera — a man of many talents, with a strong freestyle repertoire being one of them. A standout Tow-In performzance followed by an unfortunate draw against Yentel Caers in his first heat in Sardinia meant a short-lived competition for Maarten. Entering this event, Molenaar will be looking to bounce back and put together a strong performance in Paros.

Stamatis Promponas

A Naxos local and experienced windsurf coach, Stamatis made his FPT debut last year at his home spot, where he impressed by making it out of the qualifiers. With deep roots in the Greek freestyle scene and a background that includes coaching none other than Lennart Neubauer, Stamatis brings both experience and local pride to the fleet in Paros.

Eugenio Marconi

(Duotone)

Making a return after a long break from competition, the last time we saw Eugenio out on the water in an FPT lycra was at last year’s event in Vieste — more than a year ago! The 2018 U18 EFPT Champion has been catching time on the water at his home spot in Senigallia between exam preparations, and is now dialed in and ready for Paros.

Yoad Shaham

At just 15 years old, Yoad is the youngest rider in the fleet — and one of the boldest. A fearless, full-send attitude and recent rapid progression are showing that the young ripper could shake things up within the Pro-Men’s fleet in Paros.

With a stacked fleet of some of the world’s finest freestylers, rising stars, and returning powerhouses, FPT Paros is set to deliver four days of high-octane action from June 29th to July 2nd. The competition kicks off tomorrow at Pounda Beach, with conditions forecast to fire from the first heat. This is one event you won’t want to miss — stay tuned to the FPT social media channels and freestyleprotour.com for daily updates, live heat scores, and all the behind-the-scenes coverage straight from the beach.
