Engadinwind - Qualification Rounds

At the second day of the EFPT tow-in at the Engadinwind 2018, all the riders have been sent to the water to fight for the top six positions, that would make it to the final. Due to the smaller fleet at this event, every rider got six runs today, whilst the best two results would count together and provide the final score.

The nine riders put on an impressive show, using the wake of a boat, to go even higher through their moves. Balz Müller (Severne) opened the competition with a perfect one handed air-funnel 360, to then top his own score with an air buner 360 in his second attempt. Amado Vrieswijk (JP/Severne) went for a huge double air funnel, that got honored by the judges with 8,25 out of 10 possible points – the highscore of the day.

Adam Sims (Sailloft/Patrik), who is the leader of the EFPT tow-in ranking this season managed to pull the second highest score (8,06) with a perfect double spock, however the Brit couldn’t mark down a high second score, which left him rather at the end of the fleet until his very last run. Sims stomped a massive culo in front of the cheering crowd and deposed Vrieswijk to take first place in the qualification round.

Jeremy Plüss surprised the judges and apparently even himself, by landing a sick air buner 360 in his first and a clean burner in his 4th run to count. Duotone/Fanatic rider from Germany Marco Lufen felt the pressure after two failed attempts in his first two rounds, to then land a solid air funnel 360 and an air burner 360 in the following rounds. Qualifying for the final has also been Tonky Frans (RRD/RRD) wiht a skopu and an air funnel funnel.

The move of the day however was landed after the competition, when Swiss freestyle star Balz Müller stomped a perfect no handed burner 360!

With THE most amazing backdrop ever, for a competition like this, we’d like to let the pictures do the talking. Check out the event GALLERY

The final will be staged tomorrow, so make sure to stay tuned for some more crazy action here at the Engadinwind in Silvaplana.
